Will my dog outgrow its trembling and shaking or should I consult my vet?
My dog just
turned one year old and she is always shivering and seems to be
really scared of everything...bags, books, you name it. I bought
her a couple of soft squeaky toys and she loved them, but now
when I try to play with her with these same toys, she runs and
hides. I am becoming concerned about this behavior, and want to
know if she will grow out of this or if you think she needs to
see the Vet?
This is a tough one. Firstly, I strongly recommend that you take her to your vet to discuss these issues. Your veterinarian will be able to determine whether this is a medical based issue or a behavioral issue. Secondly, your Vet will also know of behaviorists and trainers in your area that will be able to provide you with the best possible outcome. I think that this should be addressed sooner rather than later. I know that your dog can overcome this, possibly with sensitivity training and strengthening the owner-dog bond between you to allow her to be less scared.
