Value

  1. Pet Assure:
Members save 100% - 400% of the annual membership cost (on average).
  2. Pet Insurance:
Policy holders receive only 55% - 60% of the annual policy cost (on average). As Consumer Reports writes: "Overall, we found that the pet (insurance) policies we analyzed were not worth the cost for a generally healthy animal."

Claims & Payments

  1. Pet Assure:
There are no claim forms. Simply show your card at a participating veterinarian and they will deduct 25% off all regularly priced, in-house medical services at the time of payment.
  2. Pet Insurance:
You pay in full at time of service. Then, you file a claim and wait to see if the insurer will approve the claim and send payment. Insurance also has deductibles which means that a certain portion of your first claim each year is not covered.

Fee Structure

  1. Pet Assure:
You pay one flat fee with our simple cat and dog plans. We also offer a family plan where up to 4 pets are covered with one low fee.
  2. Pet Insurance:
There are confusing fee structures based on the age and condition of each pet, plus yearly increases and modifications as your dog's health changes.

Exclusions, Denials & Limitations

  1. Pet Assure:
Your pet's age, breed, or health condition does not matter. Every pet qualifies with absolutely no limitations or exclusions. Even pre-existing and hereditary conditions are welcome.
  2. Pet Insurance:
Pet insurance policies do not cover treatment (or seriously limit coverage) for hundreds of conditions, such as hip dysplasia (click here to see list). Most will not cover "high-risk" pets, pregnancies, pre-existing and hereditary conditions. Many pet insurance companies will not allow you to renew an annual policy if your pet develops a serious condition.

Pet insurance costs you a lot. Pet Assure saves you a lot.
