Youtube Cat Videos

Search for “cats” on and the results are astonishing. There are currently 10,500,000 cat-related offerings on the popular video-sharing website. That’s right—more than 10 million—and I’ve watched a bunch of them. So have my cats.

Their favorites, by far, are on the YouTube channel “Videos for your cats.” Created by Meghan Koley, the channel features videos (some more than 40 minutes long) of all your cat’s favorite things (except for sleeping, of course, because that would be boring). Stars include crickets, Yellow Tangs, Tiger Barbs, woodpeckers, chickadees, sparrows, squirrels and more—all in glorious HD.

In a recent interview with Mashable, the channel’s creator explained her inspiration for creating the videos for cats. “I was inspired to create the channel based on my experience with cats—[they’re] entertained by certain videos just as much as humans are,” she said.

While Koley’s cat is apparently a fan of bird videos, all three of my cats seem to enjoy the fish the most—at least once they are parked in front of my computer monitor. The audio of birds chirping and wings flapping in the other videos will bring them running from every corner of the house.

The next time you have ten or fifteen minutes to spare, visit “Videos for your cats” and share some screen time with your favorite felines. I’d love to hear how they react. Tell us in the comment section below!
