Pet Spas: Nice meals, afternoon naps, backrubs in the evening.

You pamper your pet every day, but some companies are springing up to take the luxury a step further. In addition to the expected shampoo and haircut, these pet spas offer a wide variety of services.
For dogs, the list includes coat brightening treatment, eye stain treatment, oatmeal exfoliating scrub, teeth brushing and plaque removal, mud masques, sun-screen coat treatment, and playtime with other pampered pups. Lady pups can even have their nails painted, if they so wish.
Some spas cater to a variety of furry, feathery and leathery friends. Cats, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, and turtles all have their place in the luxury pet world. One spa has an oil treatment for tortoise shells!
Other spas offer a selection of activities, from leisurely lunches, to tea at noon and even cookie breaks.
Luckily, a pet that has never been to a spa doesn’t know what he’s missing. If pampered pet palaces aren’t your style, give your pup an extra treat, and he’ll think it’s his birthday.
Taking your pet to a groomer or spa does have advantages, though. This is especially true if your pet is young. Having your dog or cat used to being handled by strangers will make a lifetime of visits to the groomer or vet much less stressful. You don’t have to shell out for the mud wrap, though.
What do you say to this? Is it completely ridiculous and an unnecessary waste of money, or are pets also entitled to their “luxury down time”? Would you consider spoiling your pet with a day at the pet spa? Share your opinion with us in the comments below.

OOOh it sounds appealing… but more for me than for my dog, Diddly. They should have joint spas for humans and pets, for mommy and pet to go together.
